Bharati Vidyapeeth, the parent body of Bharati Vidyapeeth University was established in 1964 with the objective of bringing about intellectual awakening and contribute to building national human capital through education. Since its inception, it has been endeavoring towards its mission of social transformation through dynamic education through a network of multitude institutes in varied disciplines including management science. 

Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Development was established at Pune, in 1978, to extend its outreach  in the field of management and entrepreneurship development. At IMRDA management education is disseminated in conventional as well as emerging inter-disciplinary areas leading to degrees and diplomas viz.
•    Master of Business Administration (MBA),
•    Master of Business Administration  - Human Resource (MBA – HR),
•    Master of Business Administration – Information Technology (MBA – IT),
•    Master of Business Administration – International Business (MBA – IB),
•    Master of Computer Applications (MCA),
•    Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM),
•    Master of Management Science (MMS) and
•    PG Diploma programmes.

IMRDA has also developed a strong research orientation flourishing through its MPhil and PhD programmes in management.

With the intention of meeting new millennium challenges of competitiveness based on  human capabilities, these management programmes offer teaching and learning through a blend of traditional curricula, research,  consultancy, advanced information centres and extension activities. This is enabled through a judicious mix of internal and external resource persons drawn widely from industry and academics. For which the institution has created bilateral and multilateral alliances and partnerships to host, support, participate and contribute to research and academic activities so as to promote the cause of management education and the learner beneficiary.

Location :
    This Institute is centrally located in Sangli. The building, in which it is housed, is an architectural marvel. It is about one km from central bus stand and three km from railway station. Bharati Vidyapeeth University, IMRDA Sangli is located in the sprawling educational complex. The infrastructural facilities include well furnished classrooms, seminar hall, reading room separate faculty cubicles, students common room, ladies room amenities like telephone, banking and large circulation space. Latest teaching and learning aids and equipments are used for imparting education. These includes OHP, LCD projectors, multimedia systems, public address system, EPABX, Fax machine etc. The library is stocked with adequate number of text books, reference books, periodicals and journals. Computer center of the Institute has 180 of the state-of the art Pentium IV work stations, supported by latest software and hardware components. The Institute provides leased line internet facilities for the students round the clock.
